The Bat

Something had been started - a sound
not profoundly "won over, — we were cooking

trying to use less noise;

it seemed not
to want anything to be changed to be done — caught in a light fixture

(the beginning needed an opening;)

Lucifer, nasty, then

very resentful

A false sense of light
having been sent — the bat caught in the light fixture

Something had just been said about an invitation

("tell him not to do it")

The habit of asking
the universe what it needs

Once released onto the carpet — onto the subject:
oh the flat, the mistake mouse

It had been caught
under plastic as eternity is caught, in time

through an open window
to the trees then. It was not a concern, —

The problem of what
to do next, how to feel, foregone...

Briefly, the beyond comes to us —
