Brenda Hillman teaches poetry writing at St. Mary's College in California. Her books include Death Tractates, Bright Existence, and Loose Sugar. She has received two Pushcart Prizes, a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship and the Delmore Schwartz Memorial Award for Poetry. She currently lives in Kensington, California with her husband, poet Robert Hass.
