Mary Jo Bang is the author of five collections of poems, including Louise in Love and The Eye Like a Strange Balloon. Her most recent book, Elegy, was published by Graywolf Press in 2007 and has been nominated for a National Book Critics Circle Award. She is a Professor of English and Director of the Creative Writing Program at Washington University in St. Louis.
