Marvin Bell

Marvin Bell, a contributor to the first issue of EPR, and now retired from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, serves on the faculty of the brief-residency MFA based in Oregon at Pacific University, In 2007, Copper Canyon Press published his eighteenth book of poems, Mars Being Red, which he describes as "mainly wartime." He is the creator of a form known as "the dead man poem," for which he is both famous and infamous. He and his wife, Dorothy, live in Iowa City and Port Townsend, Washington.
