"Morphologies of Paradise" is from a manuscript called "My Devotion," published as a Black Sparrow/David Godine book. Other recent books by Clayton Eshleman are: Companion Spider, with a Foreword by Adrienne Rich, 2002; a co-translation of Aimé Césaire's Notebook of a Return to the Native Land, 2001; a translation of Cesar Vallejo's Trilce, 2000; and Juniper Fuse: Upper Paleolithic Imagination & the Construction of the Underworld, 2003, based on a research project of twenty-five years (all published by Wesleyan University Press). Eshleman is a professor in the English Department at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti.
