Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941)

EPR #3:
Excerpts from The Lover of God: Rabindranath Tagore's Songs of the Poet Sun-Lion by Rabindranath Tagore (translated by Tony Stewart and Chase Twichell)

These love lyrics were the first published poems by India's most prolific author Rabindranath Tagore. He is perhaps best known as India's first recipient of the Nobel Prize, having been nominated by W. B. Yeats in 1913. Although he is arguably the most powerful author of Indian fiction and drama during this period, it is his poetry that has had the greatest literary impact.
